‘Home-away-from-homelessness’ Project

HAL teamed up with builders Tomkins donating both finances and time to help Anglicare and their new facility for homeless women and children.

Anglicare Southern Queensland built a new accommodation facility at their homelessness services for women and children site at Toowong, where safe housing for women has been provided for 93 years. The new facility includes 24 accommodation rooms for women who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The project generated wonderful generosity, great spirit and a much deeper understanding of homelessness for many people. It's been a great project, from beginning to end. Very careful thought has gone into the design, creating special spaces, inside and out. Spaces for quiet refection and contemplation; spaces for interaction and community; personal spaces: all secure and with high standard amenities.
